Overall Second in the Formula Renault Finnish Championships
Last weekend, the Formula Renault Northern European and Finnish Championships were brought to an end in Sweden at Mantorp Park Circuit. Thanks to eighth place taken in the first race and tenth in the second race, Johannes Moor came overall second in the season’s Finnish Championships.
Based on the qualifying times, the Estonian representing the T. T. Racing Team started both races from the tenth position. By the end of the first race, Johannes had advanced to eighth, and in the second race to sixth thanks to a successful start, yet crashing into a rival a couple of laps later sent our competitor to the end of the line. Moor crossed the finish line tenth. The races were dominated by Swedes – Jimmy Lindberg won the first start, Kevin Kleveros the second one.
Both starts also qualified for the Finnish Championships, and as the overall leader of the series Finn Mika Kunranta finished both races ahead of Johannes, the Northern neighbour scored an overall victory.
“We did two one-hour practice before qualifying session, but this was obviously not enough to defeat the Swedes at their home circuit. Winning the Championships was theoretically possible before the last start, but dropping to the end of the line in sprint race proved decisive. But overall second is a good result, too, is it not? I must try even harder in the future. I would like to thank my team T. T. Racing Team for the season. Special thanks go to my sponsor Premium 7 and partners, ,” Johannes Moor summed up the season. |
